IFCO provides networking and development opportunities for Foster Care professionals worldwide to promote Foster Care best practices and minimum standards.
The work we undertake is based on the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC). The UNCRC has been ratified by 194 countries to date and states that all children everywhere have the right to a family.
IFCO is a not-for-profit organization made up of professionals, children in Foster Care, foster carers, birth families and other members from 68 countries, all of whom are dedicated to making this right a reality.
Working with IFCO
IFCO works with Foster Care professionals from around the world to encourage the exchange of information and best practices in the hopes of raising the standard of Foster Care.
For the benefit of our professional members, IFCO holds regular conferences on a regional and international basis. At these events, we encourage service providers and government and non-government bodies to initiate conversations around Foster Care and build connections on a global scale.
