IFCO 2021 – Empowering family-based care for every child around the world

International Foster Care Organisation (IFCO) marks 40 years since a small group of foster carers came together to form the first International Conference of its kind. Forty years on, we are hosting our first Virtual International Conference where we will connect with International speakers, Carers, Careleavers, Academics, Social workers and Professionals to explore the theme of this year’s conference together. The emphasis will be to share, exchange, and learn from each other. The aim of the conference is to offer a balanced and inspiring programme, focusing on best practice, informed policies, and children’s rights in the context of a global pandemic that has ‘shone a light’ on the issues facing carers and children alike for decades.

We invite you to join us to celebrate IFCO’s heritage and influence over the last 40 years, support our fundraising activities to advocate for family-based care, and to empower IFCO to amplify the voice of those involved in family-based care for children and those that have left care, around the world.

In celebration of 40 years of IFCO we are offering 40 complimentary tickets to foster/ kinship carers on a first come first served basis.

Dates:

Thursday, 4th November 2021: Australasia, New Zealand, Japan, and surrounding countries

Monday, 6th December 2021:  European time could incorporate the Americas and Canada

* International content will be the same on both days with a more localised focus on the ‘live’ content of the conference. The conference is therefore open to anyone to attend on any one day. We intend to support a series of interactive webinars for other time zones across the globe in 2022.
