The IFCO2020 Learning Programme “Close Ties: Relations at the Heart of Child and Family Wellness” Webinar Series brings together an exciting mix of content. These presentations were originally planned for the Close Ties conference in Montreal (Canada) which was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The series profiles initiatives that help children and youth in care to thrive through the creation of significant relationships and a sense of belonging to family, community, and culture. The program includes both an English and French webinar offering.
Running from September 16th, 2020 to April 14th, 2021 in collaboration with the International Foster Care Organisation, the Child Welfare League of Canada, Youth in Care Canada, the Centre for Research on Children and Families, the Canadian Foster Family Association, and the Canadian Association of Social Workers, the English program features six events with a distinct focus on Indigenous, Black and LGBTQ2S+ young people.
The French program takes place from September 30th to October 28th as part of L’Équipe de recherche sur le placement et l’adoption en protection de la jeunesse’s virtual colloquium. The colloquium will present a series of research results aimed at improving the lives of children in care and their families.
