IFCO holds regional and international conferences at locations around the world. These conferences are for children in Foster Care, foster carers, birth families and people who work in Foster Care.
At IFCO conferences, we encourage everyone to get involved and have their input into Foster Care and how they feel about it. As a child or young person in Foster Care, we appreciate that you understand Foster Care in a unique way and can make a real contribution to our mission of making sure every child has a family.

IFCO 2011 Youth Information Program 
The International Foster Care Organisation (IFCO) conference’s youth program is designed for those aged 14-21. The program offers workshops, plenaries and keynote speakers specifically tailored for a youth audience. The schedule will ensure plenty of opportunity for thought, reflection and input while building connections between a dynamic group of international youth. Daily themes include Resilient Foster Families, Successful Transitions, Respecting Diversity and Honoring Culture and Connections.
The youth program features portion of the Opening Ceremonies on Sunday, July 10, and a youth portion of the closing ceremonies on Friday, July 15. The closure of the conference will feature the official unveiling of a group project, which is a culmination of the entire week. Youth can also look forward to an exciting Youth Gala with an Island Surf theme in addition to the workshop and plenary sessions.
The IFCO 2011 Youth Committee is committed to creating an atmosphere of both fun and learning. We have taken a youth-driven approach to planning which will ensure relevant content for our peers, as we are composed of 11 members, the majority of which are aged 16-24.
The IFCO 2011 conference will be held against the coastal backdrop of beautiful Victoria BC, full of old world charm and spectacular scenery. It is sure to provide an inspiring and unforgettable setting for international visitors and locals alike.
